The Wilson Foundation has continued its mission to support and uplift young people in Northamptonshire by making significant contributions to several key organisations in 2024. These donations aim to foster youth development, education, and community engagement, helping to create brighter futures for local children.
Northamptonshire Community Foundation (NCF) – £35,000 to the Young People’s Fund
This year, we have donated £35,000 to the Northamptonshire Community Foundation’s ‘Young People’s Fund.’ The NCF also secured an additional £15,000 from The Constance Travis Foundation, and the entire sum was match-funded by the Proceeds of Crime fund, managed by NCF. These combined resources will support youth projects that focus on building aspirations, leadership skills, and community engagement. The initiative aims to divert young people away from the criminal justice system while fostering safer, more inclusive communities across the county.
Northampton Saints Foundation – £30,000 to the Education Mentoring Programme
We are proud to continue our support of the Northampton Saints Foundation through a £30,000 donation towards their Education Mentoring Programme. This programme helps young people develop important life skills and reach their full potential, often through sport and mentoring. Our ongoing support reflects the positive impact we’ve seen from this initiative, which helps guide young individuals on a more positive life path. Representatives from the Wilson Foundation recently attended the foundation’s awards event, further solidifying our partnership.
Pacesetter Sports – £8,500 for Travel to the Pacesetter Games
In line with previous years, the Wilson Foundation has awarded Pacesetter Sports an £8,500 grant to cover travel expenses for primary schools attending the Pacesetter Games. These games offer a fantastic opportunity for children to engage in competitive sports and foster a love for physical activity, teamwork, and personal achievement.
Northamptonshire Association of Youth Clubs (NAYC) – £10,000 for Emerging Leaders Course
We are delighted to continue our support for NAYC’s Emerging Leaders Course with a £10,000 grant. This funding will go towards their expedition to the Hebrides, where participants will gain valuable leadership and teamwork skills. The course equips young people with the confidence and experience to take on leadership roles in their communities. Recent feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are excited to see the results of this year’s programme.
Northamptonshire Trampoline Gymnastics Association – £7,500 for Olympic Legacy Activity Days
The Wilson Foundation is pleased to have funded 30 Olympic Legacy Activity Days, allowing 1,000 local children to participate in sports and activities through the Northamptonshire Trampoline Gymnastics Association. Our £7,500 donation ensures that children in the region have access to fun, healthy, and engaging experiences that contribute to their overall well-being.
Building a Brighter Future Together
The Wilson Foundation is committed to creating lasting change in the lives of young people in Northamptonshire. Through these donations, we aim to support initiatives that inspire, educate, and empower children, helping them to grow into confident and capable adults who contribute positively to their communities.
