University of Northampton

The University's Vice Chancellor Ann Tate was presented with the generous gift recently by Nick Wilson, a member of the Northamptonshire based Wilson family who run the charity.
Students beginning their studies with The University of Northampton in academic year 2009/10, who were born in Northamptonshire or who have lived or worked in Northamptonshire for the past year at the time of making an application, are set to benefit from this donation. The £100,000, along with the extra £50,000 that comes as a consequence of the donation, will be used as 'The Wilson Endowment Scholarship' which will give out the first of its endowment fund presentations at the start of the next academic year.
Debbie Greaves, Head of Development, The University of Northampton, explains further:
''Students who start their studies with The University of Northampton in 2009/10 are welcome to apply for an endowment fund scholarship. The only criteria is that they must have lived or worked in Northamptonshire for the minimum of one year or have been born in the county.”
''The Wilson Foundation are very keen to support local talent in the county and their gift is so greatly appreciated by the University. Financial support has never been so important for students.”
